PPMeow! has teamed-up with StyleCassentials to bring you another collaboration featuring some of the Winter Trends for 2016 Holiday Season!!!

Today’s we’re gonna show you how to make GOLD apart of your Winter wardrobe for holiday happens friends! 😉

You know when you see something online and you bond with it instantly. ❤

Buuuuut its out of stock or “coming soon”.  And your heart breaks and continues to yearn for that coveted piece?

Yah…well that was exactly what happened when I met the Sequin Bonded Pique Dress by Eloquii.  So, I put my name on their waiting list …. And then one fateful day,  it arrived at my door.  Wheeee!!

And everything was happiness, kittens and rainbows again!!! ❤

This sculpted skirt styled with a flash of gold sequins along the skirt just adds the WOW factor to this oh-so comfortable to wear, with its fit and flare nature.

If this dress is “Red Carpet refinement” – as it was seen worn by gold medalist Michelle Carter to the 68th Emmy Awards – then it certainly was gonna turn some heads at a Company Holiday Party!!

Winter Trends: Fur

We’re at it today!!!  PPMeow! has teamed-up with StyleCassentials to bring you another collaboration featuring some of the Winter Trends for 2016 Holiday Season!!!

Today’s we’re gonna show you how to rock the Fur trend in your Winter wardrobe for a party or two. 😉

You may remember this dress – THE Valentina Dress, by Kiyonna.  Click here to see what I mean.

It is one of my favourites to wear, but I wear it so rarely due to its boobalicious-curve-hugging nature…

I mean: HAPPY HOLIDAYS, indeed! Right? 😉

dsc03669

Buuuuuuuuuut, it’s not a dress that I can just bring out to family functions and holiday parties among the many married couples :/

Sooo by adding a fur collar not only tames the amount of cleavage on display, but it adds a wintery touch to your outfit.

I found this gorgeous fox fur collar at a vintage shop in Montreal earlier this year.  It has come in handy many times so far to amp up a look, keep the girls at bay or even just take a plain outfit to the next level.  Visit my Instagram to see what I mean.

Cassie styled an all-black-everything look, with leather and pleats pulling everything together with this great fur jacket!

Head over to Style Cassentials for all the details on Cassie’s winter trend of fur in her outfit.  Or her Instagram here. Or visit her Facebook page here.

Summer Bra-blems Solved: Broad Lingerie [3/3]

Boobies come in a set.  Generally speaking.

So, naturally there needed to be another Broad Lingerie solution post to round out this Summer Bra-blems Solved mini-series.  See what I did there 😛 …

Hooter Holders.  Titty Cage. Chest Baskets. Flopper Stopper. Boobie Traps.

Whatever you call them, the Bra is an essential item in a woman’s closet and a critical element to making any outfit look exceptional!

But if you’re a busty, full-figured gal, find options that are comfortable, affordable and pretty just isn’t easily done.  Now, add the extra complexity of wearing those cute Summer outfits to the burden of the rack.

BEFORE

Like this one!  I basically live in dresses like this all Summer long.

Simple, light, and NOT black!  That’s my go-to Summer look 🙂

Since bra manufacturing, and the fashion industry for that matter, hasn’t fully realized that “nude” isn’t exactly nude to all skin tones …

Wearing a black bra is the only available colour that does its best to appear invisible against my skin when wearing light/white tops.

THE SOLUTION

The Plunge/Convertible Bijou Bra by Elomi

DSC03635

How sweet are these pink ribbons with black polka-dots. ❤

Plus pink stitching details at the side of the cups … just so pretty. ❤

AFTER

Tah-dah!  Criss-cross action of this bra underneath this thin cotton dress makes everything better!

Yes, there’s bit of a peek-a-strap … but its a huge improvement over what I was wearing.

Added bonus of this Plunge/Convertible Bijou Bra was its smoothing factor.

This just might be the perfect T-shirt bra!!  What do you think?

Broad Lingerie [1/3]

With the weather warming up at hyper-speeds in Toronto and the CAD $ yet to improve, my need for finding over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders WITHOUT cross-boarder shopping was becoming an urgent priority. :/melons-jpeg

At the beginning of May, on the heels of me posting a Boobs & Bra-related rant post – click here for that –  She Does The City, an online ‘imperfect life guide for women” announced that there was a new lingerie boutique that had opened in Toronto specifically for those blessed in the chest!!!

❤ ❤ ❤

Could it be?  Have the stars and straps really aligned?  Could all my bra-blems be solved with the arrival of this much-needed local shop?

Only one way to find out! 😉

Broad Lingerie is a store dedicated to women who wear cup sizes DD and above.  Our aim is to make bras and swimwear accessible to fuller busted women by offering a smarty curated selection of basic and fashion styles sold at affordable pricing in a welcoming atmosphere.

DSC03591

What really struck me about this shop was the fact that those larger bra sizes that I was on the hunt weren’t all hidden in a backroom requiring a special request before they could be seen. 😮

Nope.  They were just hanging out there with all the rest of ’em… in all their glory awaiting to be perused, touched and even tried on without anyone’s assistance.

A shocking, yet refreshing approach rarely seen in my bra-shopping experience.

DSC03593

Fellow blogger and friend, Stef, did a great write-up of her experience with Broad Lingerie upon their store opening.

Checkout SassyPlus’ review of the shop here 🙂

Sam, the shop owner, provided me with a proper bra fitting, since every brand fits a little different.

Together we selected TWO new Boobie-Traps (ha!) to solve my biggest bra-related irritants:

1. the “back band ride-up” and 2. the “quad-boob + underwire poke” combo!

Stay tuned for a special Summer Outfit Bra-blem Solved series THIS  week where I’ll be featuring the Broad Lingerie fixes for some of those “difficult summer necklines”! 😉

Spring Double Feature: Fetching Florals

Our special Spring Trends Double Feature continues with fellow petite plus blogger, Cassie from Style Cassentials.

Today we’re talking about Fetching Florals.

“Florals for Spring.  How original.” – Miranda Presley, The Devil Wears Prada

This is not a new trend, I know.  But the truth is be I *don’t* actually have many floral pieces in my wardrobe.

I have really been struggling to find a spring outfit to fit this theme … that I actually wanna wear.

And then I found this!!!!

unspecified

I’ve been longing to find the perfect pastel to grace my spring wear.

When I found this wide leg culotte pant jumpsuit in this great pantone custard + floral pattern … I was nervous when I added it to my cart without trying it on.

Plus size onesies aren’t always magical :/ (Click here  and here and here for more on my thoughts on jumpsuits).

Petite Plus, Meow

But the colour, a soft lime custard. ❤  The floral print in lovely pastel colours. ❤

Just look at that sweet little keyhole with button closure in back! ❤  The slant pockets! ❤

And the fabric…. oh-so soft and lightweight rayon, super easy to wear into the Summer months too. ❤ ❤ ❤

unspecified-6

The elasticized waist with drawstring tie, helps give me a nice cinched-in look.

I wasn’t sure about the loose, wide cropped leg look on my frame …but I’m so glad that I didn’t let that keep me away. 🙂

Since I’m petite (short), it hits me a bit past mid-calf mark…so maybe I’ll get this hemmed a bit

unspecified-5

Where did I find this V-Neck Jumpsuit that fits all of my ample top and bottom halves? 😮

Old eff’ing Navy!!

They are just killing it this season with their pieces!

And when I checked out online, I got 41% off + FREE shipping! #winning    Affordable, trendy, good-looking Spring fashion.

You Can’t Go Wrong!!

How I Got The Look: Floral jumpsuit, Old Navy; Jelly shoes from my Malaysia trip last year; Sandals + flower clips from Aldo; Aviator sunnies from some shop on WQW

Cassie is wearing this large floral print two-piece.  Love how the turquoise and pink pops against the black.

First-Lady Fashion: Michelle Obama’s Influence on Clothing

Throughout history the first-lady has influenced fashion trends, however, none have had as much of an impact as Michelle Obama. Her clothing choices can result in stock prices for the clothing companies to rise as much as 2–3% for up to 3 weeks after she wears an outfit. Her fashion appeals to the people as she mixes more affordable brands like Gap and Target with high end pieces.

I personally really enjoy Michelle’s style choices.  Try incorporating some of the first lady’s fashion into your own wardrobe. From exposed zippers to statement necklaces—Michelle Obama has championed many of today’s popular fashion trends making her a style icon.

What are your thoughts on the First-Lady’s style?  Are you able to use any of the above tips and tricks in your own personal style?  Let me know in the Comments section 🙂

Little Black Dress #3

Continuing with January’s  Little Black Dress week on the blog today.

If you missed any of the previous LBD’s click here:  #1 and #2.  Today’s LBD isn’t completely black I know….but go with me 🙂

I picked it up this Fall at SexyPlus Clothing’s Blogger Soirée   — to see how I styled it for Fall wear on my birthday, click here.

LBD #4: SexyPlus Clothing’s JAX Newsprint

FullSizeRender-5It has been bitterly cold in Toronto.  So keeping warm and cozy has been more important than ever.  Which means a perfect excuse to adorn oneself in faux furs!!!

FullSizeRender-4Regular hosiery options just wasn’t warm enough under this light Fall dress.  So I’m wearing thick leggings with tall boots instead.  Cover up as much of that skin as you can ladies. Instead of going bare-legged, consider wearing tights or thermal leggings  beneath your skirt or dress. Not only does it look more climate-appropriate in formal situations, your legs will remain softer since they won’t be as exposed to the elements. Just like scarves, leggings and tights come in many different varieties, so it is nearly impossible not find a pair that will work with your outfit and mesh with your personality 😉
FullSizeRender-1

How I Got The Look:  LBD from SexyPlus Clothing; Grey fur scarf from Indigo; Black boots from Payless; Black leggings and earrings from Old Navy.

Holiday Double Feature: Tuxedo Glam

Here we are – 2nd last outfit post in our special Holiday Double Feature collaboration with Cassie of Style Cassentials.

The female tuxedo was seen on various designer runways,  it’s also a look that’s been adopted by many celebrities on the red carpet.  It is a great alternative to the cocktail dress for evening-wear.

Today we’re focusing on Tuxedo Glam!  🙂

By total fluke, turns out I had silver stud earrings that totally matched the studs down the lapel of this blazer!  This cute little top-hat fascinator was a fabulous find at this year’s BIGDeal Toronto Blogger Consignment Sale.

I’ve had this tuxedo blazer for a year now, and have only worn it a handful of times for fear of spilling food on it and the dreaded dry cleaning bill it would result in.  My sparkle heels added a touch of feminine glamour to the monochrome colour palette of this tuxedo look.  It would be extra sleek if I went black on black or white on white tuxedo.  But I really like the classic black n’ white combo.

When looking at how to wear tuxedo trend clothing, go for slim cut trousers and fitted blazers.  Making sure your pieces are fitted to give you that tailored look when trying to pull off tuxedo glam. 🙂

How I Got The Look:  Jessica Simpson bone n’ black lapel jacket + Thrifted black taffeta dress + Guess sparkle heels + sheer black hosiery + Top hat fascinator from BIGDeal Toronto Sale

Cassie’s floral pants make me crazy with floral envy!!! Loving the ivory tuxedo top & black tuxedo jacket.  Head over to Style Cassentials for all the details on Cassie’s look  or visit her Facebook page here.

Holiday Double Feature: Sparkle & Shine

We’re mid-week in our special Holiday Double Feature collaboration with Cassie of Style Cassentials.

What holiday series would be complete without talking about Sparkle & Shine?  That’s exactly what we’re gonna focus on today. 🙂

There is A LOT of sequins in holiday wear this year.  Don’t get me wrong…I love me some sequins!!! But everyone else is gonna be wearing it right now, and I would rather do something different this time around.

Knowing HOW to wear sequins can be a bit tricky.  I’ve done a previous blogpost on How To Wear Sequins & Shine earlier this year, if you’re interested 😉

DSC_5407

For this holiday look, I decided to let the sparkle and shine show in my accessories, rather an my entire frock.

whitehot2

I found this peplum dress last year from AdditionElle and have come up with many uses for it, like say THE South Asian Princess Leia…. click here to see what I mean 😉

There is just something about wearing crisp winter whites that really steps up the glamour of an outfit. I wanted to use the ‘sparkle and shine’ factor sparingly for this holiday look.

This amazing sliver-gold-jewelled belt was found in a lovely boutique on West Queen West called Fashion Crimes (NOTE: this shop has recently closed it’s doors and will be reopening as a bespoke boutique elsewhere in Toronto in 2015).

I matched it up with this jewelled bracelet (Aldo Accessories) and gold drop earrings (Your Big Sister’s Closet) to jazz up this holiday outfit.  And lastly, I decided to keep the heels a simple nude pump (Payless), to not distract from the rest of the look.

Cassie dazzles in her boyfriend jeans, black glitter heels, ivory camisole and black sequin jacket!  Loving the statement necklace too!  Head over to Style Cassentials for all the details on Cassie’s holiday outfit.  Or visit her Facebook page here.
