Social Media Enthusiast. Learning Designer. Curvy Fashionista.
I'm a 30-something Canadian born Bengali (parents are from Kolkata, India...for those of you who need to know that type of thing). I've been chubby-curvy-plus-sized my entire life. Standing at a height of 5'2 and with a darker complexion, it has always been a challenge finding outfits or "looks" that really suit me.
Living in the fashionable city of Toronto since birth, with a solid career has finally allowed me to embrace my love of pretty fashions in clothing, shoes and everything in between.
We had lovely weather in Toronto this weekend (yay!) … sooooooooo I needed to bust out this cheery springtime perfect number for Easter Sunday, as I spent it out-and-about with family and friends.
Here’s my Easter look: Yes, Yes they are. There are little Russian Nesting Dolls on my eff’ing dress!!! 😮
The Cutest right?!? ❤
I picked this up during Tatyana’s crazy-bananas-sale this past Fall…and now that the weather is finally cooperating, I’m thrilled to be able to wear this more. It’s a cotton, scoop neck spaghetti strap circle dress. Unlined. Which makes it super comfy for all day wear and impromptu dancing 🙂
This dress was MADE for a crinoline … but for everyday wear, that’s wayyyy too much trouble.
Truth be told, it’s a size bigger than I need. 😦 And as tightly as a make the straps they always fall down. Buuuut it was an amazing deal and it needed to be mine!
Oh, I also shorted the hem line a bit to better suit my petite height.
Love the dress? Want the dress? Well, its back in stock for THIS season…just sayin’ 😉
How I Got The Look: Pale pink cropped sweater, Old Navy; Dress, Tatayana Boutique; Jean sneaks, Roxxy; Cat-eyed sunnies, Ardene
If you follow the blog religiously, then you might remember this frock making its debut appearance in my November to Remember post…take a peek now if you like.
Happy Easter everyone! Hope you had a lovely weekend however you spent it.
And remember….all this week there will be discounted chocolate everywhere….get yourself some! 😉
This high waist circle skirt featuring a fan design on green fabric with pockets and pleating detail around the waist is what continues to make this skirt one of my beloved pieces of my closet ❤ ❤ ❤
It was a pricey piece…so I’m thrilled to be able to make it work for springtime too!
Wanna see this Fanny Skirt styled in different ways? Click here and here and here 🙂
How I Got The Look: Checkered shirt, H&M+; Fanny skirt, Tatyana Boutique; Purse, Aldo Accessories; Glossy pumps, Payless Shoes; Bracelets and necklaces are super old
No matter what the season, it seems you can’t really got wrong with a checkered shirt. I found this one at H&M+ … anything black n’ white makes it really easy to pattern mix with.
Want more on mixing patterns, click here, here and here. 😉
Ha! I think I was trying to Lindyhop on carpet for this shot. Leave it to the artsy eye of Rebecca Northcott to capture the silly moment perfectly. xo
What do you think of this look? How do you transition pieces from your winter wardrobe to spring?
Tell me your thoughts in the comment section below.
NOTHING worn in this post is from a “plus-sized store”!
I found such luck at the following shops: H&M, Winners and The Gap recently. And here are my finds from these spots into one complete outfit post!
Me trying hard to show you the back of this top. I just love how the hi-low hemline gives this tunic top a dramatic look from behind.
Let’s talk about this hi-low tunic I found at Winners! For us petite (short) babes, the hi-low look isn’t always easy to pull off. But luckily once I washed this top it shrunk-up just enough that it was no longer touching the ground!
Originally, i found this top a bit ‘blah’ as the length of the ‘low’ part of the shirt fell past my waist and made me look frumpy.
Soo I did a lil’ sewing-fix myself creating a bit of a rise at one side of the top in the front – voila! Perfect-For-Moi! ❤
And now… my bottom half 😉 I don’t wear pants often. I’m more of a skirts and dresses kinda girl.
I do enjoy leggings, especially during winter as they help keep my cute summer dresses in closet rotation. But I never really wear then as ‘pants’.
That was until I found these great ankle zip point leggings from The Gap!!!
The fabric is made of: 4% Spandex, 38% Modal, 58% Cotton. Which makes these leggings oh so comfortable, while looking perfectly fitted and rich.
I’m wearing an XL – I was thrilled that all of my ample booty fit into them. 😛
And it actually hit me just at the ankles and sat above my waist perfectly!
How I Got The Look: Ankle-zip leggings, The Gap ($25); Hi-low tunic top, Winners($30); Purse, The Shoe Co.($60).; Pumps, Nine West($50); Scarf, H&M($20)
As usual, now that you know What I Wore... let me tell you about What I Didwhile wearing this outfit…
Not only was it I able to wear this casual look to the office, but it let me do double-duty into a night of dancing too!
But I’ve recently started to explore other types of partner dancing. Have you heard of Fusion Dancing?
It is where dancers from a mix of different dance backgrounds come together – to create a fusion of partnered social dance!!!
Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. This means…Zoukers, Bluesers, Swingers (you know what we mean), Improvers, Contemporaries, Salseros, Kizombies, Tangueros … this is a place for everyone to come together and play on a dance-floor. Visit Dance Alchemy’s new FB page for more deets if you’re interested!
Here are a few snaps of me….getting my Fusion on in my OOTD above 😉

What did you think of my outfit?
Would you ever try out partnered social dancing like Fusion?

The last day of February, already ….. oh, it’s A Leap Year!
Let’s recap the fun-filled adventures that took place in the Life and Times of Moi this past month….
What I Did, What I Wore, and What I Cooked 🙂
Cabin Fever – Winter Edition
Over Valentine’s/Family Day long weekend, me and some lindyhopping friends made the long drive out to Algonquin Park to Wolf Den Lodge for a Winter Cabin Adventure!!!
It was THE COLDEST WEEKEND of the year. -38C degrees …so cold your nose hairs froze and your glasses not just fogged over, but frosted over instantly!!!
In-between communal cooking, snowy hiking, colouring and games, dancing and singing. There. Was. Drinking. 😮
Scotch vs. Bourbon vs. Rye? Do you know the difference? Neither did I. Find out more here. **hiccup**
I needed to get myself some proper waterproof winter boots and snow pants for the trip!
With end of season sales everywhere, finding boots wasn’t too difficult. I bought these Sorrel’s online – had them delivered right to my door.
Boots were easy to find…and on super sale with the winter season coming to an end. These grey-blue fur-trimmed Sorrel’s were $85
Finding plus size snow pants was a bit more of a challenge. But those Facebook Groups for plus size sales & swaps helped me find these waterproof omni-heat bad boys from Columbia.
Sadly, I didn’t end up taking too many photos this weekend – but did manage to capture these few…of winter-cottage outdoor glory!
Fashion in February
Bah! So I admit, I haven’t been very good about photographing my outfits and making them into blogposts for you.
But if you’re following my Instagram Channel – then you’ll be able to see my Outfits of the Day as they happen.
Here’s a few quick snaps of some of the looks I rocked over the month.
Ok!!! This Cognac brown “Indiana Jones” vibe hat was a whopping $5 buy (Reitmans)!!! Paired with brown booties and a new cross-body hassle purse (The Shoe Company). Bird dress was custom for moi in Vietnam, grey leggings from Old Navy and the long white sweater, is also from Reitmans.
OK! Remember when I was trying to get to University’s Alumni Day this past Fall? And how I never made it cuz there was a crazy, bonkers, blow-out sale at Tatyanna Boutique on WQW? Well…that’s where I picked up with ruffley, frilly frock for only $8!!! Yup!!! $8!!! You can’t even buy the material for that price! I added a touch of turquoise with the skinny belt and drop earrings…to pull out the colours from the polka-dots. I unveiled this outfit at February’s Vintage Spectacular Dance at The Great Hall to see the GTA Swing Band for a night of dancing with LindyHop Revolution ❤OK!! I finally got myself some “Cold Shoulder” action when I found this dress at Forever 21+. Got me looking like a 90s Fly Girl from In Living Colour… for a night of ‘clubbing’. Turns out, I am NOT a clubbing-type-girl. Ew.
February Recipe: Spaghetti Squash
Ok! I just recently discovered this vegetable… and it has quickly become a new favourite!!! Spaghetti Squash might be the easiest thing to cook, and just one will yield a ton of food!
THIS is a spaghetti squash
Spaghetti squash can be baked, boiled, steamed, and/or microwaved. It can be served with or without sauce, as a substitute for pasta. And the seeds can be roasted, similar to pumpkin seeds.
Here’s how I cooked it….
STEP 1: Cut the sucker in half. Scrap out all the seeds and guts…just like you would a pumpkin.STEP 2: Salt n’ Pepper to taste, and pop half of it into the microwave on High for 11-minutes. Then let it sit and cool for about 3-5-mins until you can handle it.STEP 3: Use a fork and scrape away!!! ….ooo look at those pretty strands. ❤
That’s basically it! You can totally dig in and get to eating 🙂
But if you wanna get a bit fancier…. you can sauté some onions, garlic, parsley, chilli flakes, etc. in a bit of butter….
STEP 4: Getting Fancy… sauté up some onions, garlic, chilli flakes in butter…and add some protein even (like shrimp, tuna, leftover anything)VOILA!!! Fancy sautéed Spaghetti Squash with Shrimp
Waddya think of this recipe? Think you’re gonna try it out yourself? Super easy right! 🙂
I cooked up the other half of the spaghetti squash and served it up with some left over salmon from early that week (see image below) – just as delicious!
Soooo has Cupid’s arrow struck you this year? Are you gearing up for a big romantic Valentine’s Day with your beau?
Or rounding up your squad for a fabulous Galentine’s together?
Regardless of what you’re up to this weekend-o-love, you will surely need a fabulous outfit! 😉
So that’s what this post is dedicated to: Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspirations!!!
I’ve come up with 3 different looks, pulling items (both old and newish) from my closet to come up with looks that could take you from romantic reservations, to a mystery date out n’ about, or to a no-boys-allowed party! ❤
1. Lady in Red
You can’t really go wrong with wearing Red for Valentine’s Day!
I picked up this great “perfect red” dress during a Black Friday Sale from Kiyonna …. the sheer sleeves, scooped neckline and perfect length made this a must buy.
Outfit Deets: Mohair purse, NineWest; Shoes, Christian S. for Payless; Earrings and necklace, Reitmans; Dress from Kiyonna
Alternatively, if you wanted a more romantic Lady-in-Red vibe maybe ditch the flats for leopard pumps and add a fur collar…and BOOM!
If you’re looking to keep it more casual and cozy, why not pull out your favourite dress like this hot pinky/fuchsia number I picked up from the opening of AdditionElle’s Stockyard location, and pair it with a fuzzy sweater!
Add some bling and pumps and …. Boom! Instant Valentine’s Day magic! ❤
Oooo I’m digging this combo of colours and textures and hardware with the jewels!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
You likee? 🙂
3. Rockabilly Pink
If you want to go all-out girly girl, a flirty-ruffle-y- skirt is the way to go!
Now, I personally never got onto the tutu-skirt trend that seemed to be everywhere for the last little while in plus size fashion.
But this full circle skirt from Tatyana Boutique has an overlay of tulle, which kinda gives you a tutu-vibe. Plus the bold gold flower details on the overlay certainly adds that romantic, flirty, girlie-girl outfit feeling.
Outfit Deets: Blouse & Skirt, Tatyana Boutique; Shoes, Naturalizer; Purse, Kate Spade; Jewellery set (old)
Since the skirt has a lot of drama, I tried to keep the rest of the look simple with blacks and whites.
I was bold with mixing patterns here – stripes and dots – but since they’re all black and white colours, they seem to work nicely, don’t you think? 🙂
This collared tie-up polka-dotted blouse with this peachy pink jewellery set in gold totally compliments the skirt and its details.
I think this set is kind of perfect for this outfit. ❤
So there you have it friends!!! 3 very different Valentine’s inspired outfits that I’m hoping will help you create the best look for your special evening.
Which is YOUR favourite – 1, 2 or 3 … and why? Tell me about your choice in the comments section below!
Hoping that these outfit inspirations earn you a few smooches this Valentine’s Weekend friends, xo 😉
Ever been curious about why kissing is so craved and important? Me too! Find out more about the Science of Kissing here.
BAH!! Why is cleaning out one’s closet so dang hard!??!
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’ve been declaring that I’m purging and organizing my closet for the last few months.
The truth is… this has been a slow-moving threat.
I’ve recently made some bold (and likely hasty) decisions about my bedroom furniture. Which lead to me tossing an old 6-drawered dresser, whose contents were very rarely visited over the last year …. which are now being donated to Clothesline and the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA).
But there were a few sweet finds that I just couldn’t part with. These choice pieces are what has created my Outfit of the Day for this post 🙂
I think I picked up this vest from a clothing swap among girlfriends way back when.
I remember wearing it with a crisp white collared shirt when I would have the occasional bartending gig.
What I really like about this vest is how it’s backless. 😉
And this hot pink sweater!!!! ❤
Y’all know how much I love the colour pink — this is my version of THE PERFECT PINK!
As you can see, its been worn and loved a lot as its now bally looking.
What’s really nice about this sweater is the lovely details on the arms…
What I like about this combo is how the solid vest helps ground the pattered pant and the bright pop of colour out against it.
How I Got The Look:
Vest, AdditionElle; Sweater, Winners; Pants, Old Navy; Shoes, Rockport
What do you think about this look? Should I keep these items or donate them?
Tell me you thoughts in the comment section below!
It’s time for a good old fashioned guest blogpost 🙂

Anyone of us has, at some point, wanted to have the mind of a fashion blogger to find the secret formula that would solve “Nothing-to-wear” syndrome. Sure, you might think, that it is easy for them, because they have closets full of clothes, and they do not even have to try that hard to find something great. That is simply not true.
The best amongst fashion bloggers can make at least 3 awe-inspiring outfits with the same essential clothing pieces. “How”, you might ask? It is easy, they are the Einstein of the fashion, and though we cannot steal their minds, we can use the formulas they have shared with us. Here are some of the must-tries for this winter.
This is the perfect winter combination. It is warm, it is layered and it is the perfect modern variation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s kind of elegance. The trick with this winner outfit is to choose one color that will prevail throughout it. If you want to play it safe, that color should definitely be black, but you cannot go wrong with chocolate brown, too. Two more daring options are the amazing and popular with reason burgundy or even dark metallic blue.
The hat, the boots and the scarf should be in the dominant color, while the other pieces can be combined accordingly –burgundy and black, for instance, pair up perfectly. If you want something a bit edgier, choose leather pants instead of skinny jeans. Finish up the combination with a pair of leather gloves and a leather bag.
For some PPMeow! looks incorporating some of these ideas click here and here and here.
The knit dress is quite an underrated piece, but it seems that it is about to get its five minutes of fame (and hopefully a lot more). A lady loves her dress, and why depriving her of the pleasure of wearing dresses during the winter? That is when winter dress comes on the scene. Chose a dress according to your preferences (turtleneck, midi dress, fitted cut, A-line, ribbed waistline, etc.) in some of the finest winter colors – grey, black, burgundy, blue, or with some patterns. Opt for solid color warm tights and boots (ankle or high). Your statement accessory can be anything from oversized earrings to large breastplate necklace. Top it all with a warm elegant coat.
For some PPMeow! looks incorporating some of these ideas click here and here and here.
You have probably realized by now that we are crazy about tweed, and so should you. It is the season’s greatest hit for men’s apparel. Another major trend is grey in all of its shades, so if you can, include it in this outfit. To reach the ultimate refines, the shirt, the pants and the blazer should be custom made by reliable tailors, such as iTailor’ skilled professionals so that they would fit your body shape ideally. The tweed driving cap will give you the youthful and a bit dandy-feel. Opt for leather lace-up style boots.
This is the perfectly casual and yet a bit dressy combination. Maybe you think that turtlenecks are so 70s, but do we have to remind you that none other than 007 wore it in this year’s spectacular Spectre, and guys, he hooked up with Monica Belluci? In that case, you have your answer when it comes to color too, black, of course (but you can experiment). Combine it with black slim-fit pants and an interesting long overcoat Paletot style (double breasted, fitted, knee-length) – it can be patterned (plaid) or colored (green). Choose elegant black lace-up ankle boots.
Do not limit yourself strictly to these formulas. Use them as basics for your own experiments with style. Discover your inner fashion blogger and find yourself in the crowded world of fashion trends. In the end, fashion is all about self-expression, so be yourself and be stylish!
Cabaret Vintage has been in the heart of West Queen West, Toronto for almost 20 years and has been named Best Vintage Clothing Store in Toronto by Now Magazine.
This year however, the shop is moving its business to online sales only. You’ll be happy to know that their vintage inspired options go up to a 2x sizing there – FYI!
While the storefront will remain operational until February, the ladies of the Toronto Vintage Society booked an hour of exclusive shopping-time with Tao (the delightful shop owner) to scoop up as many “one-of-a-kind” vintage finds as we could. 🙂
The Ladies of The Toronto Vintage Society …wishing you a Happy New Year!
What I Wore:
I’ve been stalking this Tatyana Boutique dress (a common hobby of mine) and finally got it when it was super marked-down….
The Outfit Deets: Faux fur purse, Aldo (click here); Bowtie belt, vintage; Maryjane heels, Nine West; The Judy Dress, Tatyana BoutiqueThis dress is very generously sized, the one below is a 2x (I usually fit into 3x/4x with Tatyana sizing).
Model vs. MoiThe neckline and shoulders of this dress is really what stole my heart. And its the perfect length…no hemming required for my petite frame.
I love it so much ❤
So much so, that I’ve actually wore this to the office the week before Xmas … and received “compliments” which included very-vintage-y, as well as Elf-y
Le sigh…
The Judy Dress – Tatyana Boutique
What I Bought:
“Exclusive shopping event”, they said.
“It’s only an hour”, they said.
“No harm in looking, right?” they said.
Sigh… I cannot be trusted. My visit was suppose to be strictly for window-shopping purposes. I thought I could totally control myself, as finding true vintage in my size is like finding a needle in a haystack. I thought I was safe. And still, this giant bag of delights followed me home.
What was inside the shopping bad you’re wondering?
The following beauties…
Three pairs of elbow-length gloves….. one in perfect condition brown leather!! ❤
This brown hat sits on the head at a sharp angle, held on to the head with a hat-pin … I couldn’t put it down, and maybe kept it on my head whilst I shopped the store…. 🙂
And lastly, this gorgeous mink fur collar!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ It was a splurge-o purchase….but just look at it! I’m only human people!!!
And it’s given new life to older pieces in my closet already, like this cheapy wrap-dress from Old Navy that’s been in my closet for ages…
If you are interested in shopping at Cabaret, you can by appointment only before they move exclusucely to online sales. Reach out to Tao, tell them I sent ya 🙂
Looks like we’ve finally gotten a snowy winter in Toronto. Here’s the winterized me that day…post-shopping with a new hat & scarf set I got for Christmas.
Hope you rung in 2016 with love in your heart and a smile on your face. 🙂
I’ve been a social butterfly all December long, and for NYE I spent it cozy with my bae Netflix – for a quite me, myself and Irene evening.
❤ ❤ ❤ It. Was. Glorious. ❤ ❤ ❤
As for resolutions … this basically sums it up for me:
I started this fashion & lifestyle blog as a fun outlet to share the things I liked. Over the past two years, the blog’s focus has moved more and more into an “online journal of the life and times of moi” – showcasing What I DID and What I Wore!
Having just celebrated the blog’s 2nd anniversary (yay!) … there are a number of things I want to start introducing into blog content in 2016, I will definitely continue with many more of WID and WIW type-posts in the upcoming year. 😉
There have been some fun, new, winterized outfits in the first 10-days of January, and if you’re following my Instagram channel you’ve caught a glimpse of them.
But for now, let’s take a look back to my favourite looks on the blog from the LAST YEAR!
Poodle Skirt Perfection – You know how much I love the retro 1950’s look? I had the perfect opportunity to finally wear it … to the opening of Bean and Baker Malt Shop this summer.
2. Sea-side Sun Dress – This was a cheap buy from Old Navy and worn many times from spring through summer. Special thanks to Rebecca Northcott Photography for the photoshoot.
3. Picnic Parasol – This green checked dress was custom-made for moi in Vietnam when I visited in March. It was the perfect outfit for the annual Toronto Vintage Society Picnic.
4. Florals & Stripes – Mixing patterns more bravely was something I did a lot of this past year. THIS was one of my favourite combos from Spring.
5. Hibiscus Wrap Pants – Travelling was a major focus for me last year…and these fab wrap pants were a fashion find in my exploration of Asia – KL, Malaysia to be exact.
6. Peek-a-boo Pencil Pin-up – Found this curve hugging pin-up frock for $15 at one of Tatyana’s super-duper sale events. It was perfect for the White Kitschmas themed TVS Holiday Celebration.
7. FATkini – In the 30-something year’s of my life, 2015 was the year I embraced my bod, buddha belly, thick thighs and all, and wore a bikini bathing suit!!! It was the “most liked” photo on my Instagram and even the lovely GabiFresh commented on it!!!
8. Hello, Yellow – Ah, yes…this yellow skirt ❤ Another custom creation from my travels to Asia – Hoi An, Vietnam. It’s been styled many different ways all last year…and even helped me create a Snow White Lindy Hop Halloween look. Love. This. Skirt.
There you have it! My Favourite Looksfrom the past year. Which is your favourite? Tell me in the comments section. 🙂
And stay tuned for new blog content all year long!
Oh dear! Another month and so few blogposts to show for it.
I’m alive, I promise. It’s been a dizzy busy December!
Let’s dedicate this blogpost to filling you in and catching you up on all the many fun-filled adventures that took place in the Life and Times of Moi this past month….
Holiday Hair with The Proudest Pony
I don’t know about you…but when it comes to my look, my hair-game is weak sauce!!!
So when I was invited to this blogger exclusive evening at The Proudest Pony – wild horses couldn’t keep me away. See what I did there? 😉
Me with Ashley, Owner and Hairstylist Extraordinaire + Me with the ladies of Main St. CCTah-Dah!!! Final results: Vintage glamour bob
If you’re following me on Instagram (if you’re not – you should – click here) you can see the entire hair transformation there 🙂
Me with the delightful hair magician, Garlande … she’s a doll!! Outfit Deets: Top, Penningtons (other looks); Skirt, Forever21+
Corporate Holiday Party
I work for a huge company – and haven’t been interested in going to the companywide holiday party in a few years.
But since I got my hair did the night before, and had a dress that was dying to be worn…. I had to make an appearance this year 😉
Accessories: Ear cuff from Forever21 and Earrings from Your Big Sister’s ClosetOutfit Deets: Coat, Laura Petite; Shoes, Guess; Purse, Danier Leather; Dress, Kiyonna
This faux fur zebra coat was the first I’ve found that didn’t add extra bulk to my bod …. and fit me perfectly in the shoulders. It was from Laura Petite – isn’t it lovely?
The first weekend of December, Toronto Vintage Society hosted our annual holiday party – this year with a White Christmas theme.
This was the crowd at about 9pm!!! It was a super fun night, with a number of great bands and performances, with a full house all night long.
These were some of the beautiful homemade kitsch being sold at the event – I may have picked up a few for myself 🙂Here are a few snaps from the TVS Album…
Team Xmas Lunch and Office Party
Remember that fabulous hat I WON from Goorin Bros last month? Well, I picked up another glittery kitschy facinator from this year’s TVS White Kitschmas…clipped it to this hat, and voila la!
Holiday Amazingness was Born!!!
…pardon the no-makeup selfie here friends…Outfit Deets: Propeller hat, Goorin Bros; Cropped cardi, Old Navy; Necklace, LOFT; Fanny skirt, Tatyanna Boutique (for more click here and here)
It was the perfect for my Team Lunch where festive gear was strongly recommended 🙂
Later that week, our entire department had some mandatory fun with more festive furvolity and general office appropriate holiday shenanigans! 🙂
I’m one of those rare people who only ever saw the Star Wars films as an adult, not as a kid. But I was an instant fan…and with the release of Episode VII, I hosted a movie marathon…
Complete with Darth Vader slippers, Lightsaber pretzel snacks and 1/2 the cast on my couch 🙂
Naturally, I HAD to dress for the theme too….
BOTH of these tees are from Ardene – FYI!!!
I had tickets for THE FORCE AWAKENS Christmas Day –and oh yes, there’s an outfit for that – duh!!!
Outfit Deets: Faux fur collar long sweater, Reitmans; Star Wars tee, Ardene
Want more Star Wars Fashion? I got you covered…click here 😉
Toronto Distillery Christmas Market
It never really feels like Christmas until you’ve visited the Distillery’s Christmas Market.
Sadly, it’s not quite the the same experience without snow. But we made the best of it…
Eating GIANT Turkey Legs, in the street …. Keepin’ it Klassy. That’s how we do!
Can’t leave without the mandatory group selfie in front of that xmas tree 🙂
The Many Open House Holiday Get-Togethers
I’ve got so many lovely friends who open up their homes for some good ol’ fashioned holiday cheer.
I participated in the vintage cookie exchange again this year – click here for the cookie recipe.
But this time baked up a few billion extra and packaged them up as giveaways and hostess gifts 😉
One of my favourite holiday looks this year was this one: BLACK & RED!
A pleated black circle skirt is a staple in my wardrobe. You can dress it up or dress it down. For an easy house-party-outfit, I chose to wear it with this retro red plaid top, and added a fun broach/hair fascinator to amp up the christmas-y factor to this look. Adding that needed festive vibe needed by all holiday party attendees.
Outfit details: Skirt, Forever21+; Plaid top, Collectif, Loveless Boutique; Shoes suede tie-up flats from Christian S for Payless; Holiday bow earrings Target; Holiday broach/fascinator, handmade kitsch from Toronto Vintage Society
What’s great about this outfit is that the pieces can totally be worn together or separately, paired with other items, throughout the year!
Orphan Xmas Eve Dinner
What was originally gonna be a dinner for two in pjs xmas eve….became a proper grown-up dinner for 6 xmas eve 🙂
Friends are the Family you choose.
Since selling the house and downsizing to a shoebox of a condo, I didn’t think I’d be hosting many parties ever again.
I’m very fortunate to have found some lovely new people in my life whom I can call friends. And am thrilled to be hosting get-togethers again 🙂
NYE 2016
Alas, I’ve yet to make any firm plans for New Years Eve just yet….
There’s plenty happening. I did pickup this amazing beaded vintage jacket…that will very likely be incorporated into my outfit, once I make a decision on what to do for NYE.
What are you doing for NYE? What are YOU gonna wear? Tell me in the comments section below 🙂
Found this vintage beaded beauty at ThePublic Butter – 50% off!!!!
Hope you all had a fabulous time off from work, and had lots of time to catchup with family and friends and everyone in-between.
Looking forward to 2016 and all the adventures to be had in life and fashion.
Thank you for following the blog! Wishing you and yours a wonderful New Year ahead! xo
